Christmas Wreath

This was last year's Christmas wicker wreath design. I reused the decorations in my window display this year and in the living room decorations.

I went with more traditional and natural decorations this year.

It came out much better than I thought, so I was very thrilled. Plus the cats didn't try to kill it this year, so WOOHOO!

Need to figure out what to do for the "new year" look.....

Birdcage Decorations

When I had my own place *sigh...* I was just starting to work on decorating the bathroom. I had almost completely finished decorating my bedroom and kitchen, so I moved on to something else. I have this lovely shower curtain (that ironically my mom found at the ARC store) that looks like a pastel waterfall.

I was going to do a nature/garden design. I want to hang bird cut outs and cages around the bathroom and put flowers around or in the cages. Luckily I just happened to find some bird and birdcage cut outs at Michaels.

I painted them in light pastel colors to go with the ribbon colors. I painted both sides, so that when I hang it from the ceiling I can look at both sides.

I painted the cage cut outs in silver glitter. Once I had painted them it looked just bland, so I decided that I would paint the bird inside the cage a pastel color too.

These will have to hang near the mirror, I think, but relatively low to really be visible.

Now if I just had a bathroom of my own to decorate!

Nature Unbounded

One of the great things about living in Colorado's mountains in the sheer expance of nature all around you. The view from our deck along is amazing.

Nature is not afraid to just show up and make you smile at random moments and I love that.

However my mother is not so thrilled, as they are eating her flowers. Even the ones that they are suppost to not like! Poor mom... but can't say I don't like coming home and see them just resting in the yard or munching away at her flowers.

Nature upclose

One of the many upsides to living in the mountains of Colorado is the wild life and just how up close it can get.
Not the greatest picture, given it was taking from my phone, but still proves my point. The humming birds are everywhere up here. They can get extremely close. They are also surprisingly loud.
